WUSTL’s Commitment to Action brings
$30 million to advance sustainability

As part of its Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) efforts, WUSTL yesterday announced it has committed $30 million to take a major step forward on sustainability. The news came during the Faces of Hope rally to kick off CGI U events on campus.

Support proposition to improve Arch, trails and public parks on April 2 ballot

On Tuesday, April 2, St. Louis city and county residents will vote on Proposition P, the Safe and Accessible Arch and Public Parks Initiative. WUSTL supports parks and trails, which connect it to the wider community, and backs the goals of Proposition P, a 3/16 of 1 cent sales tax increase to fund improvements to the Gateway Arch grounds, trails and local parks.

Kelleher receives Sloan research fellowship

Caitlin Kelleher, PhD, has received a prestigious research fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Kelleher is the Hugo F. & Ina Champ Urbauer Career Development Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering & Applied Science. The two-year, $50,000 fellowship supports early-career scientists and scholars in science, mathematics, economics and computer science.

Libeskind to speak Tuesday on ‘Future of Cities

As a teenage émigré arriving in New York Harbor, Daniel Libeskind was deeply struck by the grandeur of the Manhattan skyline. Decades later, Libeskind is helping repair that skyline as master plan architect for One World Trade Center. On Tuesday, April 2, Libeskind — one of today’s most celebrated architects — will discuss “The Future of Cities” as part of WUSTL’s  Assembly Series.

Stretch of I-64/Highway 40
to close this weekend

Weather permitting, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps of Interstate 64/Highway 40 from Hampton through Forest Park avenues at 8 p.m. Friday, March 29. The highway is expected to reopen by 3 a.m. Monday, April 1.
